BRAZILIAN JAZZ, SAMBA, & JOBIM

Unfortunately the Brazilian Jazz Concert scheduled for May 18 has been cancelled due to the illness of Maucha Adnet’s mother.
We hope to reschedule at some point in the near future.
BRAZILIAN JAZZ, SAMBA, & JOBIM
Maucha Adnet-vocals & Helio Alves-piano, with Special Guest Duduka Da Fonseca-perc.
Brazilian vocalist Maucha Adnet is truly one of the greatest, authentic interpreters of Brazilian songs performing today. She is the real deal, having spent a decade touring and recording with the great Antonio Carlos Jobim, as well as collaborating with many other artists including Charlie Byrd, Dori Caymmi, Eliane Elias, Gilberto Gil, and Toninho Horta. Hello Alves has partnered with an equally illustrious assortment of artists, including Yo-Yo Ma, Joe Henderson, and Paquito D'Rivera. But the two Brazilians' finest performances, spanning two decades, have been side-by-side.
Drummer/percussionist Duduka Da Fonseca has long been recognized as one of the great masters of Brazilian percussion and has been instrumental in popularizing Brazilian jazz in this country. Duduka has appeared on over 200 albums and performed with artists such as Antonio Carlos Jobim, Astrud Gilberto, Gerry Mulligan, John Scofield, Wayne Shorter, Tom Harrell, Herbie Mann, Joe Henderson, Kenny Barron, Nancy Wilson, and Phil Woods amongst many others. “Duduka’s command of Brazilian and American rhythms and his ability to integrate them so seamlessly is truly innovative.” - Billy Hart.
