George Schuller - drums
Richard Sussman - piano

Alto Saxophonist Lee Konitz has enjoyed one of the most creative and prolific careers in modern jazz. After early experiences with the Claude Thornhill Orchestra and Stan Kenton’s Orchestra and the innovative small groups of pianist Lennie Tristano, Konitz rose to prominence by recording the landmark “Birth of The Cool” with Miles Davis in 1949-50.  Since then, Konitz turned freelance and has remained on the cutting edge of post-bop improvisation ever since.

Always an innovator, Lee’s many collaborations over the years read like a "who’s who” of the Jazz world. Lee Konitz is the only still active musician to have played all three ever existing Birdland clubs in New York City, as well as the very first and most recent Newport Jazz Festival.  Lee was voted "Alto Saxophonist of the Year" by the Downbeat Magazine Critics Poll in 2010 and numerous times before that.  This is a rare chance to hear a true living legend of jazz in an intimate setting!

Amazing Blues Guitarist/Vocalist Sa Ron Crenshaw Returns with his Quartet.

Back by Popular Demand!!!

Bringing The Blues Back to The Rockland County Jazz & Blues Society

SaRon Crenshaw is an extremely talented guitarist and vocalist who travels the country playing Jazz and Rhythm and Blues. He has performed frequently at Blues venues and festivals on the east coast for the past decade and has a large following in the Tri-state area. In 2010 and 2011, SaRon had the honor of opening up for Robert Cray and B.B.King on the big stages in Connecticut and won love from the audience with his acoustic performances. Saron's love is the Blues and he has been inspired by some of the greatest singers and players of all time, B.B. King, Albert King, Albert Collins, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Buddy Guy to name a few.

SaRon is a powerful entertainer and is never afraid to take his performance straight into the audience.  The audience response to his appearance at the Nyack Library earlier this year was so overwhelmingly positive that we decided to bring him back for a return engagement – by popular demand! Not to be missed!
