This workshop is open to all interested music students and the general public. The professional jazz artist/clinicians will speak on various topics aimed at educating audiences to a greater appreciation of jazz. They will also lead the students in exploring the art and craft of jazz performance and composition through demonstration and active student participation.

This Workshop will focus on techniques of improvising in a small group setting.

Come hear what happens when world-class jazz artists and educators shares their knowledge and passion with talented young adults who want to know how it’s done!

Trumpeter Scott Wendholt has recorded and/or worked with artists including Vincent Herring, Kenny Garrett, Cyrus Chestnut, Christian McBride, Don Braden and Bruce Barth. He has recorded on more than ninety CD's, and has received critical acclaim as a leader with 5 recordings under his own name.

This event is made possible, in part, with funds from the Community Arts Grants program of the Arts Council of Rockland, the Decentralization Program of the New York State Council on the Arts and a generous grant secured by Assemblywoman Ellen Jaffee.
