Marvin Stamm has been acknowledged as a leading master of the jazz trumpet since arriving in New York in the late 196os. Marvin's resume reads like a who's who of modern jazz - including Bill Evans, Quincy Jones, Oliver Nelson, Thad Jones, Wes Montgomery, Freddie Hubbard, Stanley Turrentine, Michel Legrand, Lena Horne, Frank Foster, George Benson, and many more. He gained considerable recognition for his playing with the Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Jazz Orchestra (1966-73) and the Duke Pearson Big Band (1967-71), as well as performing with Frank Sinatra (1973-74) and the Benny Goodman Sextet (1974-75). Since 1990, Mr. Stamm has been touring the world with his various groups and also performing as a solo jazz artist with various groups, including the Westchester Jazz Orchestra.
A sensitive and resourceful pianist and one of the leading composer/arrangers on the international jazz scene, Mike Holober is Artistic Director/Conductor of Westchester Jazz Orchestra and Associate Conductor of the HR Radio Big Band in Frankfurt, Germany. He has performed with/had his works performed and recorded by the Billy Cobham, Jane Monheit, Miguel Zenon, The WDR Big Band in Cologne, The Stockholm Jazz Orchestra, The Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, The Tim Ries Rolling Stones Project, John Patitucci, and many others. As a sideman he has performed on over fifty recordings, and has released four acclaimed recordings as leader. An associate professor at The City College of NY, Mike is also a MacDowell Fellow. Since 2007 he has been associate director of the BMI Jazz Composer’s Workshop, where he co-teaches with Musical Director Jim McNeely.
